Girls2Women-VA had our inaugural Career Empowerment Day on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
This event was a celebration of women empowerment, the purpose being to highlight career-driven women in the community and inspire our mentees to be more intentional in planning their future!
The event consisted of several guest speakers and interactive workshops, led by successful women from various career fields. The women shared information about their field of practice, what their average day at work looks like, and tips for how others can pursue a similar career path!
We want to acknowledge the following guest speakers and workshop leaders for their contribution to Career Empowerment Day:
• Louise Lockett-Gordon - Epidemiologist
• Danielle Fitz-Hugh - VP of Community Relations at Richmond Region Tourism

In addition, we thank Carolyn Ogrosky with Dreaming in Color Photography for photographing the event, as well as providing professional headshots to attendees!
We are SO grateful to our volunteers for sharing their professional lives with our mentees, and contributing to G2W-VA’s mission of empowering girls.
